Assess yourself if you are sick with a respiratory illness

Do you have mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19 such as:

  • fever/chills
  • cough
  • shortness of breath
  • runny nose
  • sore throat
  • loss of sense of taste or smell
  • headache
  • fatigue
  • loss of appetite
  • nausea or vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • muscle aches

AND are you potentially eligible for Paxlovid treatment if you test positive for COVID-19 and are at higher risk of severe outcomes?

COVID-19 patients eligible for Paxlovid include people:

  • with a COVID-19 diagnosis from a health care provider;
  • with mild disease;
  • within 5 days of symptom onset; and
  • who meet a set of specific risk factors as determined by their health care provider, such as over:
    • 50 years of age, not fully vaccinated and have health risk factors; or
    • 60 years of age and not fully vaccinated.

If you do not fit in the above groups, depending on your age and health status, you may still be considered at higher risk of developing severe outcomes. Talk to your health care provider to discuss your options.
